Healthy Habits Week- DETOX TUB TIME
Happy Friday!!!!
I don't know about you, but my Friday nights aren't like they used to be! ha!! Having 3 kids, running around with kids stuff, sports, school, etc.....A perfect Friday night is all about relaxing!!!! A comforting bath can detox your body, relax your muscles and pamper your skin as you soak. Add a few drops of essential oils, and you have yourself a spa experience for your body and mind. By adding essential oils to epsom salts it helps flush toxins, ease stress, improve sleep....just to name a few benefits. If you water is not filtered, you should add baking soda (this helps neutralize the chemicals). Are you ready to get started???
CREATE YOUR DETOX BATH:
Step 1:
Add 5-10 drops of doTERRA Essential Oils to 2 Cups of Epsom Salts. Then add water to your tub. You want your water as hot as you can stand it and still enjoy it.
Step 2:
If your water is not filtered, you will want to add 1 Cup of baking soda.
Step 3:
Immerse yourself in your heavenly tub, all the way up to your neck. You want as much as your body underwater. Close your eyes and soak for at least 20 minutes.
Step 4:
Once you are dry, you can apply a natural moisturizer. I like to use coconut oil, but do not use anything with perfumes, dyes or chemicals.
Stop 5:
Hydrate!!! Make sure you drink lots of fluids.
Looking for oil suggestions:
Cedar wood, Sandalwood or Rosewood: Tree oils are incredibly soothing and grounding. I recommend using them individually rather than blending them. They are all quite fragrant and all have calming properties.
Vetiver: This oil is known in India as the oil of tranquility. It is great for dry skin brought on by the cold air and indoor heat.
Ylang Ylang: This is amazing before bed. It helps sooth your body and is another great oil for dry skin.
Lavender: Lavender is one of the all time favorites for nighttime baths. It helps calm and promotes sleep. It also helps support damaged, stressed or irritated skin. Since your skin is your largest organ, this is amazing and let it all seep in the benefits!
Eucalyptus, Respiratory Blend, Peppermint: If you are feeling a little stuffy or looking for respiratory support
Protective Blend: This is great when you need some immune boosting
